It's a Peggy's World - my blog!
I specialize in appliqué and in-the-hoop projects for computerized machine embroidery. All designs are original. I do not use clip art.
How about a cute and easy project for you to make for Christmas. I used my Round Tuit bag for these, but the technique can be applied to any of my zipper bags. We made these at the SewNSave in Westerville, Ohio on December 3. They are covered with a clear vinyl and have confetti or mini-ornaments sealed in the front. We all had a lot of fun making them! Check out the right column for pics and a link to download the instructions.
Pegboard Crafts zipper bags are featured in the November/December 2011 issue of Designs in Machine Embroidery! Dawn Wenner of Crystal Eye Candy has written an article showing how to use the gift card case and my new Accessory Case with her easy to make i-Pad case. She uses her fun Snapsetter tool to attach the small bags to the larger one. Each little bag is labeled so you know what accessory goes in each bag and can easily find it when needed. I've made a special set with just these 2 bags for your convenience. These will make great Christmas gifts!
It has been a long three months. I found out in July that my zippered bag for the Kindle won first place in its category - Accessories, Fashion - in this year's Stitches Magazine Golden Needle Awards. Terri Hanson of Terradon Embroidery encouraged me to enter the contest. I could only enter one category, so I chose Digitizing. It doesn't look like much until you actually sit down to do one so I wanted them to see the instructions. I found out later they liked it so much that it won in both the Embroidery and Digitizing categories! My issue arrived this morning, so I can finally announce it to the world! It is very exciting for me. The editors did a great job on the articles, even managing to make me sound a little interesting.
Stitches Magazine is a free industry magazine for commercial embroidery. They haven't updated their site with the latest issue as of my writing this, but it should be up soon. You will then be able to see the article for yourself if you don't get the printed version. This is the 2nd Golden Needles contest I've won. My autumn leaf jacket won in their inaugural contest in 2008. Click here to go to Stitches Magazine. My entries are on page 46 and 51 of the November 2011 issue.
Congratulations to Cathy Cattle for winning in the Accessories, Home category. Her entry is gorgeous and deservingly won in both the Embroidery and Digitizing categories. Her design made the front cover too! I met Cathy (Nutmeg) at the AEC (American Embroidery Conference). She does amazing work! My congratulations go out to all the other winners too!
I am working on a few new things including a child's purse and flap/pocket combos for the Varsity and Jr. Varsity bag. New flap/pocket options will also be available for the award winning Kindle bag as well. I just have to find time and a space to test sew. My sewing room is being completely remodeled after having 2" of water in the basement last month. The drywall is going up slowly.
And who will be the new Featured Project? Inquiring minds want to know! She's working on her introduction right now!
